Services & Assistance

The CON Research Center has been established to conduct research and provide a formal infrastructure to assist both students and faculty in carrying out research activities. To this end, the services and assistance are provided by the Research Center along with a primary contact. Members of the Research Center who serve as primary contacts include
Development and Submission of Research Applications and Proposals
  • Formulate and develop appropriate research topics and designs to be pursued. Contact Dr. Kip for details.

  • Conduct targeted grant searches/Identify potential funding sources for proposed research topics and proposals. Contact Ms. Binkowski for details.
  • Provide guidance on how to develop grant applications and proposals. Contact Dr. Kip and Ms. Binkowski for details.
  • Assist faculty with shaping of research design and hypotheses. Contact Dr. Kip for details. Contact Dr. Kip for details.
  • Assist with defining study methodology, required sample size, data collection procedures & statistical methods to be used. Contact Dr. Kip for details.
  • Draft statistical analysis sections for grant submissions. Contact Dr. Kip for details.
  • Conduct sample size and power calculation for grant submissions. Contact Dr. Kip and Rajendra Kadel for details.
  • Assist faculty/PhD students with development of grant submission budgets. Contact Ms. Walker for details.
  • Provide a detailed timeline for proposal development activities. Contact Ms. Binkowski for details.
  • Develop templates for commonly used funding mechanisms. Contact Ms. Binkowski for details.
  • Assist with compiling biosketches, support letters, resource statements & other non-scientific materials typically required in applications/proposals. Contact Ms. Binkowski for details.
  • Establish grant submission subcontracts and consortia agreements. Contact Ms. Binkowski for details.
  • Assist with defining human subject requirements and development of IRB applications and informed consent forms. Contact Ms. Wittenberg for details.
  • Assist with critical review of proposal drafts. Contact Dr. Kip for details.
  • Review proposals for adherence to submission requirement (e.g. proposal evaluation criteria/scoring rubric). Contact Ms. Binkowski for details.
  • Assist with final formatting, editing, and submission of applications and proposals. Contact Ms. Binkowski for details.

Conduct of Research
  • Assist with developing informed consent documents. Contact Ms. Wittenberg for details.
  • Assist with development and revision of IRB applications. Contact Ms. Wittenberg for details.
  • Assist with completion of human subjects training. Contact Ms. Wittenberg for details.
  • Track and report post-award expenditures and budget information. Contact Ms. Walker for details.

  • Provide lectures/seminars grant submission, human subject compliance, budgeting. Contact Ms. Binkowski for details.
  • Process travel requests and expenditures for funded research projects. Contact Ms. Walker for details.
  • Direct Checkbox survey applications for research-related efforts. Contact Rajendra Kadel for details.
  • Serve as CON liaison with CON Evaluation Committee (i.e. assist with analyses). Contact Dr. Kip for details

    • Note: While the Research Center strives to be fully supportive of research activities for students and faculty, there are a number of activities that are the primary responsibility of the researcher, and as a general rule, will not be performed by Research Center staff. These include:
  • Conducting literature reviews.
  • Drafting of large sections of grants and manuscripts.
  • Clerical activities such as copying and binding.
