Abstract

The purpose of this retrospective study is to examine the prevalence and incidence of pre and post-operative anemia in RYGB patients and to examine therapeutic iron supplementation, symptoms, self-management strategies and adherence in post RYGB patients over the course of 12 months following RYGB surgery. Specific Aim 1: To examine the relationships between malaborption nutritional deficiencies, iron supplementation, symptoms, self-management strategies and supplementation adherence following RYGB surgery over a 12 month period.
