Teresa Gore, PhD, DNP, FNP-BC, NP-C, CHSE-ADr. Gore’s clinical experiences includes; clinical nurse 1997-2009 in critical care, emergency room, post-anesthesia, cath lab, and supervisory positions. In 2001, she completed her MSN in nursing education and began teaching in 2002 transitioning to full-time faculty position in 2003 and a PRN staff position. In 2009 she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and a post-master’s nurse practitioner program in primary care. Her clinical experience then transitioned from bedside nursing to nurse practitioner at Auburn University Medical Clinic. In 2010 she completed a certificate program in simulation education and in 2014 completed her PhD in adult education. Dr. Gore is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner, a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) and CHSE-A (Advanced).
Dr. Gore is an Associate Professor and Director of Experiential Learning at the University of South Florida College of Nursing. She is the current President of the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL). Her simulation work focuses on improving patient safety and quality patient care. Dr. Gore has published on simulation topics, including articles on simulation use, chapters on simulation, and was one of the INACSL Board of Directors that developed and published the first INACSL Standards of Best Practice: Simulation in 2011. She has also presented national and internationally on simulation topics. Recognized for her achievements she received the 2010 and 2013 SGA Outstanding Faculty Award for the School of Nursing at Auburn University and the Marie L. O’Koren Alumni Award for Innovation in Teaching from UAB in 2013.
John Todaro, BA, NRP, RN, TNS, NCEE
Mr. Todaro’s experience includes: clinical positions in emergency rooms, trauma center, aeromedical services, emergency medical services and supervisory/leadership positions. He holds a BA in Business Administration/Healthcare Management and AS degrees in Nursing and Paramedics. Mr. Todaro is a Nationally Certified EMS Educator and a Trauma Nurse Specialist. Under a 2004 grant from the Florida Department of Health he designed and managed Florida’s first dual submersion environment mobile simulation laboratory which was established in a 45-foot motor coach. In 2009 he was honored by the National Association of EMS Educators when they awarded him their “Legend That Walk Among Us” status and the Florida Association of EMS Educators who named him Emergency Medical Services Education Program Director of the year.
Mr. Todaro is the Assistant Director of Experiential Learning at the University of South Florida College of Nursing. He has served on the board of directors and is past president of the National Association of EMS Educators and the Florida Association of EMS Educators. In 2015 Mr. Todaro was a member of the National Association of EMS Educators team that completed the landmark “Simulation Use in Paramedic Education Research” (S.U.P.E.R.) study which investigated the use of simulation in nationally accredited Paramedic education programs and was a lead facilitator for the national EMS simulation consensus meeting. He is an avid presenter of clinical, leadership and simulation topics at national and regional conferences.
Troy Hambrick, MBA, Healthcare Management & LeadershipMr. Hambrick’s clinical setting experience includes serving in the United States Air Force, as an EMT/Medic and as a First Assistant at the Winter Haven Hospital and Bond Clinic both in Winter Haven Florida. He utilizes his extensive healthcare background and training to create realistic simulation experiences from basic to complex health related scenarios for students, faculty, and guests.
He is a member of the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL), serves as a representative for the Simulation Technologist and Resource (STaR), participates in various organizations which includes the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialists (CHSOS), is an International certification test item writer, a standards and elements committee member, is an active member of the Florida Healthcare Simulation Alliance (FHSA) Leadership Team, and serves as the operation specialists head trainer for the State of Florida.
