Purpose and Objectives

The purpose of the program is to provide a solid clinical and academic foundation necessary to produce competent professional practitioners in the field of anesthesia.

Program Objectives:

1. The selection of students with an honorable character and intellectual ability who have a desire to pursue an education in anesthesia and advanced nursing practice.
2. To provide a challenging curriculum that incorporates the academic and clinical experience essential for the practice of safe anesthesia at the Masters Degree level.
3. To develop in our students the principled framework necessary to become effective patient advocates and professional associates.
4. To instill in our students the desire for continuing education and life long education for advance nurse practitioners.
5. To incorporate a collaborative multidisciplinary practice setting for the advancement of nursing.

To instill the need for research and evidence base practice to develop strong professional identities for nursing in the field of anesthesia.
