TEAMS CENTER OVERVIEW

Team Education and Multidisciplinary Simulation (TEAMS) Center gives healthcare providers the opportunity to practice, hone and retool clinical skills, and to develop behavioral and teamwork skills needed for real-life patient encounters. Optimally, these skills are learned under realistic conditions that do not pose any risk to patients. The combination of simulation to improve clinical skills and team training to enhance behavioral skills optimizes the performance of medical team members, leading to better patient outcomes.

The TEAMS Center provides simulation and team training to a wide range of providers including physicians, nurses, physician assistants, respiratory therapists and nursing technicians. The TEAMS center is currently training healthcare professionals in emergency medicine, internal medicine, neonatology, obstetrics, and pediatrics.

The USF Health TEAMS Center opened July 1, 2009 and is operated by the Department of Pediatrics with support from the Office of Graduate Medical Education. Click here to view the story.
