Dr. Gloria Ferreira has been awarded a new NIH grant “Ferrochelatase: does porphyrin distortion control metal ion specificity?” for the period April1, 2007 through March 31, 2011. This new grant is in addition to a continuing NIH grant “5-Aminolevulinate Synthase and Heme Biosynthesis” that will run through January 2008. Congratulations Dr. Ferreira – it’s well-deserved!
- Simone Smith (Dr. Hassell’s student) successfully defended for her Ph.D. degree on 7/6/2007. “The Proteoglycan Perlecan Regulates Long Bone Growth through Interactions with Developmental Proteins in the Growth Plate”. Congratulations Dr. Smith
