The Biostatistics Core is a shared facility which provides support to all investigators in the areas of basic science and clinical research at USF Health College of Medicine and Tampa General Hospital. The biostatisticians are available to utilize their expertise for the planning, conduct, analysis and reporting of all research using scientific programs for data analysis and scientific graphics. They are also available to provide education to investigators in all areas of study design, data collection, statistical methods, etc. 

USF Health South Campus

Ms. Katheryne Downes is located on the USF Health South Campus, Davis Island. Ms. Downes recently completed a dual M.P.H. in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the College of Public Health at USF.  She is an expert in database design and management, data analysis, and infectious disease epidemiology.  She has worked for over 5 years in academic research in the university system and has extensive experience working with the IRB and other research offices at USF.

USF Health North Campus

Dr. Ren Chen will join us on August 24, 2007. She will be located on the USF Health North Campus. Dr. Chen has 5 years of professional experience in statistical analysis, design and randomization for clinical trials. She has 4 years of experience in protocol creation and collaborating with professional statisticians. Dr. Chen graduated with a Master of Health Administration and a Master of Public Health (Biostatistics) from USF in 2004 and 2002. She obtained her Medical Degree from Xian Medical University in China in 1995.
