Welcome to My Healthcare at USF

Thank you for choosing USF Health for your healthcare needs. We are committed to bringing USF Health's extensive expertise in research, education and healthcare to you — in one of our Advanced Healthcare Centers in Tampa. By choosing USF Health, you become our partner, pursuing the most medically advanced treatment available.

Your Healthcare Team

Because we are an academic medical group, our faculty physicians lead patient care teams that may include medical students, residents, fellows and other healthcare providers. The providers you may encounter on your visit include:
  • Medical Students: Students training to become physicians through a four-year course of study for a medical degree at the USF College of Medicine.
  • Residents: Physicians training within a certain medical or surgical specialty.
  • Fellows: Physicians who have typically gone beyond residency training and are continuing their studies in a subspecialty area of their field.
  • Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP): A registered nurse who is qualified through advanced training to assume some of the duties and responsibilities formerly assumed only by a physician.
  • Physician Assistants (PA): A person certified to provide basic medical services usually under the supervision of a licensed physician.
  • Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM): a registered nurse with additional training as a midwife who delivers infants and provides antepartum and postpartum care.
USF Health is dedicated to creating a model of health care based on understanding the full spectrum of health. It includes the University of South Florida's colleges of medicine, nursing, and public health; the schools of biomedical sciences as well as physical therapy & rehabilitation sciences; and the USF Physicians Group. With $310 million in research funding last year, USF is one of the nation's top 63 public research universities and one of Florida's top three research universities.
