Diagnosis and treatment of:

Disorders of the intestinal tract, including the esophagus, stomach, duodenum, small and large intestine, liver, gall bladder, biliary tree and pancreas
Tumors of the digestive system, liver and pancreas using endoscopic techniques including newer modalities like endoscopic ultrasound and therapeutic approaches like tumor dilation, stent placement, endoscopic laser therapy, photodynamic laser therapy, tumor ablation with endoscopic Bicap-tumor probes and endoscopic polypectomy
Occult and active gastrointestinal bleeding including push enteroscopy, variceal sclerotherapy and band ligation as well as treatment with thermo active devices (Bicap and heater probes, laser)
Biliary tract and pancreatic disorders including diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP, sphincter of Oddi manometry and endoscopic ultrasound
Chronic hepatitis B and C with percutaneous and laparoscopic guided liver biopsy and interferon therapy
Intestinal motor disorders including esophageal and ano-rectal manometry, 24-hour esophageal pH studies, defecography in cooperation with the departments of surgery and radiology
Peptic disorders including studies for heliobacter pylori and management of patients with inflammatory bowel disease using medical and endoscopic therapy as well as newer surgical and interventional radiological techniques

To serve our patients with digestive diseases better, the Division works with the departments of Surgery, Radiology, social services and dietary services to provide multidisciplinary care in the Regional Center for Digestive Disorders at Tampa General Hospital. Disease management includes joint treatment and research protocols, multidisciplinary clinical and research conferences
