Biography
Dr. David J. Hernandez joined the USF faculty in 2009 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology based at Tampa General Hospital. A native of Tampa, Dr. Hernandez completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular Biology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and his MD at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. His General Surgery Internship, Urology residency and Research Fellowship in urologic oncology were at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Hernandez's areas of concentration include urologic oncology, prostate and renal malignancies, kidney stones and benign prostatic hypertrophy, as well as minimally invasive surgical treatment modalities. His interests include clinical outcomes research and resident education.
