Vascular Surgery Research
Taking advantage of USF’s state of the art simulation center, the Division of Vascular Surgery is a pioneer in simulation/education research. In addition, the faculty and residents have multiple protocols for clinical outcomes and implementation research examining a variety of endovascular devices. These studies include evaluation of new products for endovascular surgery from carotids to lower extremity devices, an implantable carotid body stimulator for control of severe, resistant hypertension, and a trial of medical therapy with doxycycline for abdominal aortic aneurysms. Support for these studies relies upon a strong relationship with industry sponsors and with the NIH.
