National Medical Fellowships, Inc:
This organization provides financial assistance for first and second year medical students from minority groups currently under-represented in medicine. These groups include African Americans, American Indians, Mainland Puerto Ricans, and Mexican Americans. Eligible applicants may request an application directly from the National Medical Fellowships, Inc. For further information visit their website at www.nmfonline.org.

Delores A. Auzenne Fellowship:
The State University System provides grants in the amount of $2,500 to $5,000 annually for the purpose of increasing the number of under-represented minority students in the State University System. The Financial Aid Office attempts to send applications to all eligible applicants. You may request applications directly from the USF Office of Equal Opportunity Affairs, ADM 218, 4202 E. Rotary Club of Miami: Thomas Brown McClelland Trust:
Scholarship awards for qualified students who are already in or about to start medical school. Applicant must be a graduate of a Miami-Dade County High School, a permanent resident of Dade County, Florida for at least the most recent five years and demonstrate great potential and promise as a doctor by their ability as measured by grades, positions held in extracurricular activates and volunteer actions in the community. http://www.miamirotary.org

Florida American Legion Medical School Scholarship:
Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident entering the third year of study in a LCME-accredited Florida medical school in the fall. A nomination letter from the medical School's dean or the dean's designate discussing the nominee's leadership abilities, excellent academic achievement through the first and second years of medical school, awards and honors, special research projects, and extracurricular activities, especially those exhibiting leadership abilities. 2010 Florida Medical Foundation – Edward R. Annis, M.D. Medical Student Scholarship:
Scholarship to medical students who demonstrate a commitment to organized medicine and public health initiatives. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a successful candidate from a U.S. allopathic medical school. Applicant must be a rising third or rising fourth year medical student, U.S. Citizen, a member of the American Medical Association (AMA) and their state medical society for at least one year, and demonstrates personal motivation for excellence in both character and academic achievement. Personal integrity, as exemplified by leadership, community involvement, public health initiatives and concern for others will be considered. Availability of application will be announced by email annually.

KAMA (the Korean-American Medical Association):
The KAMA scholarship is intended to promote, assist and support eligible medical students of Korean heritage and their pursuit of medical and scientific research studies and community outreach efforts.
Criteria: First, Second and Third year medical students in good academic standing at an accredited U.S. or Korean medical school and a member of KAMSA. Mary Jo and William Kirkley Scholarship:
Applicant must be achieving satisfactory academic performance, a U.S. Citizen, a Broward College graduate who has been accepted into an accredited medical school in the State of Florida, to begin study in Fall of award year. http://www.broward.edu/sfs/ Availability of application will be announced by email annually.

Muhlenberg Foundation, Inc. - Howard G. Lapsley Memorial Scholarship Fund for Medical Education:
Scholarships are awarded yearly by the JFK-Muhlenberg Campus Board of Directors to provide financial aid to one or more qualified candidates pursuing a career in the study of medicine, osteopathy or dentistry. Availability of application will be announced by email annually.

Need-Based Scholarship Program:
The Need-Based Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to first, second, third year medical students who are U.S. citizens from groups currently under represented in the medical profession; specifically, African-Americans, Alaska Natives, Hispanic/Latinos, Native Hawaiians, Native Americans, Vietnamese, Cambodians, and mainland Puerto Ricans who permanently reside within the 50 U.S states. Applicants must demonstrate and document financial need by submitted supporting documentation (i.e. parents' and student/spouse's tax return, W2s, etc.). www.nmfonline.org

VAMA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:
The Executive Committee of the Vietnamese American Medical Association (VAMA) has established the Scholarship Program to provide financial assistance to needy medical students, foster medical students' interest in serving the Vietnamese American community, scholastic achievement, and encourage participation and leadership in the Association.
Prospective applicants for the scholarship program should be enrolled as a third year medical student at an accredited medical school in the U.S. who demonstrate a strong interest in serving the Vietnamese communities in the U.S. when he/she completes training. http://www.vamausa.org

Minority Scholars Award:
The AMA Foundation, in collaboration with the AMA Minority Affairs Consortium (MAC), with support from Pfizer Inc., offers medical student tuition assistance scholarships through the Minority Scholars Award program. The AMA Foundation is committed to increasing the number of minority physicians to better reflect the needs of our increasingly diverse society. Today, less than 7 percent of U.S. physicians are Hispanic, American Indian, African-American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian or from other groups historically underrepresented in the medical profession.
Approximately twelve Minority Scholars Awards are awarded annually, each in the amount of a $10,000 scholarship. Nominees must be a current first or second-year student and a permanent resident or citizen of the U.S. Eligible students from traditionally underrepresented groups in the medical profession include African American/Black, American Indian, Native Hawaiian, Alaska Native and Hispanic/Latino. Each medical school is invited to submit up to two nominees. Contact your medical school if you are interested in being nominated for the Minority Scholars Award.

Physicians of Tomorrow Scholarships $10,000 scholarships reward current third-year medical students who are approaching their final year of medical school. Funding is made available by various organizations and the number of recipients is determined after all applications have been received. Each medical school can nominate one person for each of the different scholarship opportunities (2 nominees in total). Each scholarship category takes into consideration academic excellence and financial need.
Physicians of Tomorrow Scholarship: Selection is based on academic excellence and financial need.
Physicians of Tomorrow Scholarship supported by the Johnson F. Hammond, MD, Fund: Selection is based on a commitment to a career in medical journalism.

The Scholars Fund:
The American Medical Association (AMA) Alliance—the largest volunteer arm of the AMA—works with the AMA Foundation each year to raise money for medical schools to distribute to deserving students. Funds are used to support tuition assistance for students.

Arthur N. Wilson, MD, Scholarship:
The Arthur N. Wilson, MD Scholarship provides a $5,000 tuition assistance scholarship to a currently enrolled medical student who graduated from a high school in Southeast Alaska. This scholarship highlights the importance of supporting future physicians in rural communities. Pinellas Community Foundation - Graham-Bowman Scholarship Fund:
Mrs. Selma Bowman Graham provided funding, at the time of her death, to the Pinellas County Community Foundation as a memorial to her late husband, Warren J. Bowman. Scholarships are awarded to graduates of Pinellas County high schools, who are working towards a degree in law, medicine, and nursing, and who demonstrate financial need.

Francis J. and Ina Grace McDougall Medical Scholarship Foundation:
Scholarship funds are made available to USF College of Medicine from the trust fund established by Ina Grace McDougall through the Sun Trust Bank of Tampa Bay. Mrs. McDougall's intention was to provide financial assistance to needy medical students. Preference is given, but not limited to, native-born Americans who are upper Pinellas County residents. Awards are made annually and will vary based on the availability of funds. The scholarship award may be applied to only the cost of tuition and fees, books, and customary medical school education expenses exclusive of room and board. This is a need-based award. FAFSA must be submitted by March 1st.

Cherry, Baekert and Holland - Rex Meighen Memorial Scholarship:
Established in 1978 by the Hillsborough County Medical Association of Tampa in memory of Mr. Rex Meighen, C.P.A. of the Association for thirty years, this scholarship provides $1,500 annually to a deserving student with recognized academic excellence and financial need. FAFSA must be submitted by March 1st.

Southern Medical Association - Medical Student Scholarship Program:
The Southern Medical Association makes available one to three $500 scholarships annually to third year medical students who exhibit superior abilities and have a demonstrated financial need. The College of Medicine is responsible for the selection of these individuals.

Susan O. Rasmussen Trust Fund:
- Established by Mrs. Susan O. Rasmussen will this specified that a portion of her estate be left in trust as a scholarship for the benefit of needy and qualified medical students. The scholarships awards are made to students from the central Florida area and who demonstrate financial need.

Brenda Welling Scholarship Fund:
- Established in 2004 to honor Brenda Welling awards are made annually to medical students who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need. Students must be nicotine-free and not using illegal drugs.

USF Women in Leadership and Philanthropy (WLP) Scholarships: USF WLP strives to provide as many scholarships as possible at the beginning of each academic year. The Turkish American Doctors Association of Midwest:

Turkish American Doctors Association of Midwest is a voluntary medical organization founded in 2005. TADAM was established to enhance academic interaction among Turkish-American Physicians and Dentists in the Midwest States as well as the United States. One of TADAM’s missions is to support medical and dental students of Turkish-American heritage or ancestry through scholarships.
