Goals

The major aims of the Signature Interdisciplinary Program in Allergy, Immunology and Infectious Disease are to:


  • Enhance research capacity in AIID by:
    • targeted recruitment of new faculty and endowed chairs
    • creation of core facilities
    • competitive synergy seed funding
    • to facilitate intramural and extramural collaborations, and
    • develop focus research groups for targeted funding

  • Organized think-tank sessions and a 5-year "road-map" for implementation

  • Develop a community of scholars facilitated by social synergy events, journal clubs, lecture series and research symposia and

  • Promote horizontal (interdisciplinary) and vertical (translational) integration of research and researchers

  • Enhance the research productivity of USF Health and to provide a productive and relevant research experience for all doctoral and medical students, and postgraduate fellows.
