Goals
The major aims of the Signature Interdisciplinary Program in Allergy, Immunology and Infectious Disease are to:
- Enhance research capacity in AIID by:
- targeted recruitment of new faculty and endowed chairs
- creation of core facilities
- competitive synergy seed funding
- to facilitate intramural and extramural collaborations, and
- develop focus research groups for targeted funding
- Organized think-tank sessions and a 5-year "road-map" for implementation
- Develop a community of scholars facilitated by social synergy events, journal clubs, lecture series and research symposia and
- Promote horizontal (interdisciplinary) and vertical (translational) integration of research and researchers
- Enhance the research productivity of USF Health and to provide a productive and relevant research experience for all doctoral and medical students, and postgraduate fellows.
