Department of Radiology Residency
Program Director's Welcome
Through the USF outpatient imaging centers and our affiliated hospital partners, the diagnostic radiology residency program at USF Health offers a diverse educational experience in a variety of clinical settings that prepares our graduating residents well for careers in either private practice or academic radiology. The central Florida climate, with its mild winters, offers an additional bonus for year-round recreational activities apart from residency training.
Please review the information provided on our web site regarding our residency program in Diagnostic Radiology. If you wish to apply to the program, you should submit your application and supporting documents through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Medical school transcripts, USMLE scores, and three letters of recommendation must be received by October 5, 2012 to complete your file. On October 11, we will begin reviewing all completed files. If the Residency Training Committee feels you are a competitive applicant, you will be contacted by e-mail with a list of available interview dates. Most applicants will be contacted by mid-October. Interviews are conducted by invitation in November through January.
During this residency match cycle, we will offer 8 advanced (PGY-2) diagnostic radiology positions that will begin on July 1, 2014. Four preliminary internal medicine internship positions (PGY-1) are also available for radiology candidates who match into our program.
The USF Department of Radiology follows the guidelines set forth by the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) for programs participating in the match. Additional information regarding graduate medical education at USF, including the Housestaff Handbook and a sample contract, can be found on the USF Housestaff website. . If you have any questions regarding our program or the application process, please feel free to contact our Program Coordinator, Rhonda Kaye Tuttle, by phone at 813-974-6311, or by E-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
