Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Full-time position for Board eligible/Board certified psychiatrist at the assistant/associate professor level with clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities. Bob and Diane Roskamp Chair in Biological Psychiatry The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, College of Medicine, USF Health, seeks an outstanding scientist for the position of Bob and Diane Roskamp Chair in Biological Psychiatry. The successful candidate is expected to have an established academic and professional focus in behavioral neurosciences. Their area of research interest may relate to neuroimmunology, genetic susceptibility, and the biological basis of the pathophysiology and treatment of psychotic illnesses inclusive of schizophrenia and mood disorders. The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine currently has over 67 faculty and over $3 million annually in NIH and other external grants. The department is a leader in providing state-of-the-art psychiatric treatments, offers a premiere psychiatric training program, advanced in the art and science of psychiatry and provides clinical, teaching, and research leadership to the College of Medicine and healthcare affiliates of the University of South Florida. Currently, the College of Medicine has over 540 fulltime core faculty, over 450 medical students, and over 150 students in the biomedical graduate program. With the objective of doubling its extramural funding in the next five years, faculty of the College of Medicine have outlined a bold strategic plan which includes recruitment of this endowed Chair and over 50 new tenured/tenure earning faculty and the establishment of state of the art Core facilities. In partnership with its affiliated institutions, USF Health's research funding last year was $164 million - more than half of which came from federal sources. USF is one of only 95 public and private universities in the U.S. that have been designated as Carnegie Comprehensive Doctoral Research University/Very High Research Activity. Minimum requirements include a MD, PhD, or MD/PhD with a minimum of five years of experience as an Associate Professor or equivalent.
