Hope House for Eating Disorders strives to provide the Tampa Bay community with extensive outreach and supportive intervention groups, free of charge, for people suffering from eating disorders and for their loved ones.What is Hope House for Eating Disorders?
USF Hope House for Eating Disorders is a community project that provides a supportive intervention program for all people affected by eating disorders. Hope House programs supplement, but do not replace, treatments provided by other health care professionals.What Hope House offers
Hope House offers a wide range of resources for all people affected by and suffering from eating disorders. Hope House supplements, but does not replace, treatments provided by health care professionals experienced in treating patients with eating disorders.- Supportive Intervention Groups
These groups include cognitive behavior therapy, body image groups, and expressive therapy groups. - Parent Training Workshops
These time limited workshops (usually 4 hours) provide helpful information and guidance for parents and caregivers whose child has been diagnosed with an eating disorders. - Professional Education
Continuing education events for professionals who treat eating disorders. - Weekly Drop-In Hours
Hope House is open to the public weekly for drop-in hours. A Hope House staff member is available to answer questions about eating disorders, our groups and other available resources.
Hope House is not a medical facility or a mental health facility; therefore we do not require a referral.
In order to evaluate if the programs offered at USF Hope House are effective we will be conducting an outcome study. This means you will be asked if you are willing to complete some questionnaires to help us determine if you have benefited from the activities at USF Hope House.
