Amaya Ramos, MD

Dr. Ramos completed her undergraduate studies and medical school training at Pedro Henriquez Urena University in Santo Domingo,  and a fellowship program in adult, child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of South Florida.  She is board certified in Child and Adult Psychiatry and Clinical Psychopharmacology.   As a USF faculty member she has served as Director of the Tourette's Disorder Clinic and as a faculty member of the Silver Child Development Center.  Dr. Ramos has a part-time private practice, and has been a consultant for the Pasco and Hillsborough County School Systems for more than10 years.  She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor with the Rothman Center for Pediatric Neuropsychiatry.

Scholarly Interests

  • Dr Ramos’ research interests include pediatric psychopharmacology as it relates to Tourette's Disorder and to autism and obsessive compulsive disorder; she has participated in several clinical trials in these areas.  Currently, she is a co-investigator for several ongoing research projects at the Rothman Center for Neuropsychiatry.
