Division of Infectious Diseases
The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases of the University of South Florida manages the full spectrum of infectious diseases. Our inpatient services include consultations and admissions at Tampa General Hospital, All Children’s Hospital and St Joseph’s Hospital. We also provide outpatient services at several locations in the Tampa Bay area, including South Tampa, North Tampa and downtown St. Petersburg.
The Pediatric/Adolescent HIV Program of the University of South Florida was established in 1990 with the primary goal of providing comprehensive medical care to HIV infected and exposed children and adolescents. With the support of the community, it has become a regional center of excellence for HIV care, serving eleven counties with a population of over 3.5 million people. The department of Pediatrics of USF, in partnership with All Children’s Hospital, is the sole provider of comprehensive HIV care to children and adolescents in West Central and Southwest Florida. Our primary goal is to improve the health and lives of infected children through excellent medical care, access to clinical trials, psychosocial support and education.
For children with any infectious disease, we provide a "medical home" with 24-hour on-call services and intensive medical case management services.
