Elena E. Perez, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Perez completed her residency training in Pediatrics and fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia from 1998-2004. She then served on the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania until 2009, when she relocated to All Children’s Hospital and USF in St. Petersburg. While in Philadelphia, Dr. Perez served as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and worked in collaboration with Sangamo Biosciences in translational research, applying zinc finger nuclease technology for the modification of the CCR5 gene, a major co-receptor of HIV, under the mentorship of Carl June, MD. Dr. Perez joined the faculty of the Division of Allergy and Immunology, where she will maintain an active research laboratory in T cell biology, HIV, and primary immunodeficiency diseases and care for patients with primary immunodeficiency.
