Mary H. Pavan, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Pavan has served on the faculty at the University of South Florida since 1981. She worked first in the general pediatric program, and then in neurodevelopmental pediatrics. She has been the pediatric director of the Early Steps Program since 1990. Before coming to Florida, Dr. Pavan worked in private practice in Medford, Mass, and neurodevelopmental disabilities at the University of Iowa. She is the Pediatric Director of the Tampa-St. Petersburg Cleft and Craniofacial Center and is active in resident and medical student education.

Scholarly Activity & Interests
Dr. Pavan promotes evidence-based screening for developmental concerns and for autism to assist primary doctors in encouraging child development and in identifying concerns. She is the liaison from the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Children with Disabilities to the Florida Pediatric Society. Dr. Pavan promotes quality team care for children with cleft and craniofacial conditions and is the program chair for the Florida Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association this year.
