John D. McCormick, M.D.

Dr. McCormick joined the USF faculty in 2008 after six years in private practice.  In addition to being a medical doctor, Dr. McCormick is a registered pharmacist, having majored in pharmacy as an undergraduate student where he graduated at the top of his class.  Subsequently, he completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at USF, including a year as chief resident.  Dr. McCormick is a fellow with the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) and with the American College of Physicians (FACP).

Dr. McCormick has received several awards for his teaching and clinical skills. He is currently the Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Training Program at USF, where he is actively engaged in training residents and medical students.

Scholarly Interests

  • Dr. McCormick has been an investigator on numerous clinical trials related to the development and improvement of pharmacotherapies.  His primary scholarly interest is the development of novel educational approaches to the training of residents and students.
