Xiaoming Gong, DVM, PhD, MS
Dr. Gong is originally from Jiangxi, China, and has resided in the United States since 1996. He was a faculty member at the Nanjing Agricultural University College of Veterinary Medicine from 1991 to 1996, and emigrated to the U.S. in 1996 to accept a postdoctoral fellowship position in biochemistry at Kansas State University. From 2000 to 2003 Dr. Gong was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. In 2005, he joined the faculty of Cleveland Clinic as a Research Associate in the Departments of Cell Biology and Pediatrics. He joined the faculty at USF in 2008 along with Dr. Lewis Rubin, who holds the Pamela and Les Muma Endowed Chair in Pediatrics. Dr. Gong’s major research interests are the role of environmental, nutritional, and cellular signaling factors in disease and human development.
