Sharon Dabrow, MD

Dr. Dabrow has served on the faculty of the University of South Florida since 1995. She completed her pediatric residency and an additional year as chief resident at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. She was an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida from l990-l995 before coming to Tampa. She completed a primary care fellowship at Michigan State University in 1992 and has been an active member of the Division of General Pediatrics at USF and an active staff member of All Children’s Hospital and Tampa General Hospital. She has served as the Director of the Continuity Clinic and the Community Pediatric Program and has been very involved with student and resident education having served as the Associate Director of the Residency Program since 2001. She is the co-director of the Resident Advocacy rotation and has been instrumental in developing innovative curricula. Dr. Dabrow is on the Executive Board of the Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Florida Reach Out and Read Coalition. She coordinates the USF Reach Out and Read Program and serves as a National trainer for the group. She is an active member in the Ambulatory Pediatric Association and participated in their Faculty Scholars Program from 1999-2001. She is a member of many community organizations including the School Health Advisory Board and the Ophelia Project. Dr. Dabrow has a keen interest in pediatric literacy, adolescent health and medical education.

Scholarly Activity

Dr. Dabrow is an author of many scientific publications. She has been the recipient of numerous grants and awards including HRSA, The Blues Foundation. AHEC, Reach Out and Read. She is a member of the national CORNET research group and has collaborated with faculty around the country.
