Lori Bowers, MD, FAAP
Dr. Bowers has served on the faculty at the University of South Florida since 2001. She is a true USF alumnus having completed both her medical school training and pediatric residency at USF. Dr. Bowers left Florida briefly to join a private practice in Alabama, but missed the educational atmosphere of USF and returned a year later as an Assistant Professor. Since joining USF, Dr. Bowers has been involved in both residency education and more recently medical student education. In 2004, she received “Attending of the Year” award for her excellence in teaching. In addition to her clinical work and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Bowers is a medical correspondent for the Tampa Tribune. Her passion is medical education and she was recently appointed as the Interim Associate Dean for Medical Education. Her primary scholarly interests relate to medical education and in clinical practice she has a particular interest in caring for children with genetic syndromes.
