PA Timeline

The University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine, Physician Assistant Program has applied for provisional accreditation from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). The University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine, Physician Assistant Program anticipates matriculating its first class in June, 2015, pending provisional accreditation in September, 2014. Provisional accreditation is an accreditation status for a new PA program that has not yet enrolled students, but at the time of its comprehensive accreditation review, has demonstrated its preparedness to initiate a program in accordance with the accreditation Standards.

Important dates:

  • August 24-25, 2013 – Feasibility Study due to ARC-PA
  • April 2014 – Accreditation application submitted to ARC-PA
  • April 2014 – Enroll in PAEA
  • June 2014 – ARC-PA site visit
  • September 4-6, 2014 – ARC-PA commission meeting for accepting provisional applications
  • October 2014 – Accept student applications (Pending Provisional Accreditation)
  • January - March 2015 – Conduct student interviews (Pending Provisional Accreditation)
  • March 15, 2015 – Accept inaugural class (Pending Provisional Accreditation)
  • April 29, 2015 – First cohort begins (Pending Provisional Accreditation)
  • September 2016 - February 2017 – Follow-up continuing accreditation site visit (Pending Provisional Accreditation)
  • August 5, 2017 – Graduation of first class (Pending Provisional Accreditation)
