Learning in the USF College of Medicine

Both our undergraduate and graduate level athletic training programs have the distinct and unique advantage of being housed in the USF College of Medicine. Our program is the only program in the nation to be integrated into a Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, where our students have access to highly-skilled specialists in musculoskeletal medicine.

As part of the College of Medicine, we are able to raise the profile of our program, which helps others learn about the profession of Athletic Training and our purpose within the healthcare field. Also, it allows our students to have access to all of the wonderful resources that the College of Medicine has to offer, particularly expert faculty, pioneering research projects, and modern technological applications, such as the Center for Advanced Clinical Learning (CACL).

As Dr. Klasko, Dean of the USF College of Medicine states:

"The University of South Florida has evolved into a premier research university and is now among the elite research universities in the most recent Carnegie classification and was one of the two fastest growing research universities during the last fiscal year. The USF College of Medicine has been a major drive of that success. Despite all the changes occurring in academic health care, our faculty, students and administration believe that our best efforts and results are still to come. We are developing leaders, not just followers, in health care reform."

It is an exciting time to be in the USF College of Medicine, and we are proud to be part of such a progressive group of health educators.
