Biographical Sketch

  Dr. Plosker attended medical school at The University of Western Ontario in London, Canada. After interning in the University of Toronto system, he returned to the University of Western Ontario where he completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at The University of California, San Francisco. After fellowship, Dr. Plosker returned to Canada to join the faculty of The University of Toronto as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Reproductive Biology from 1989-1992. He immigrated to the United States in 1992, entering private practice in Fall River, Massachusetts where he was Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Charlton Memorial Hospital from 1999-2002. He joined the Division of Reproductive Medicine and Infertility at Women & Infant's Hospital of Rhode Island in 2000, and the clinical faculty at Brown Medical School at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor in 2002. At Brown, he was the Director of the donor egg program. He joined the faculty of the University of South Florida College of Medicine as Associate Professor and Head of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in October 2006.
 
Dr. Plosker has published research papers, review articles, and book chapters on diverse research and clinical interests in reproductive medicine. These include optimizing embryo transfer technique in In Vitro Fertilization, optimizing outcomes in intrauterine insemination, polycystic ovary syndrome, early pregnancy loss, endometrial polyps, and neuroendocrine regulation of pituitary hormone secretion. During his tenure at Brown University and Women & Infants', he received four Dean's Teaching Excellence awards and was chosen as a Top Full-time Faculty Teacher of the Year on three occasions.
