Application Process
The department participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)/National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) matching process. Final selection through the match occurs in March. Initial applications are submitted through the ERAS and qualified applicants are invited to interview with the faculty and rising chief resident(s). Interviews for the 2011-2012 application cycle will be conducted on November 18, 2011, December 16, 2011, January 20, 2012. Applicants are considered on the basis of ability, aptitude, academic credentials, interpersonal & communication skills, personal qualities as well as letters of recommendation. Two new neurosurgery residents are accepted into the program per year. The department does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, and age or disability status. Senior externships for interested applicants are recommended but not required.
