Application Process

Residents are selected through the Neurosurgery Residency Matching Program (NRMP) hosted by the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The ERAS is a program of the Association of American Medical Colleges. Final selection through the match occurs in March for the subsequent year. Applications are submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Qualified applicants are invited to interview with the faculty and rising chief resident(s) beginning in October. Applicants are considered on the basis of ability, aptitude, academic credentials, interpersonal and communication skills, personal qualities as well as letters of recommendation. The department of Neurological Surgery does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, and age or disability status. Senior externships for interested applicatants are recommended but not required.
