The Department of Neurosurgery and Brain Repair at the University of South Florida utilizes a team approach to provide the best medical care possible for our patients. Within the practice of neurosurgery there are numerous medical conditions in which we treat. The medical care team approach enables us to direct each patient to the appropriate physician’s team who specializes in their specific medical condition. Using this combined patient care team approach provides our patients with greater efficiency and timeliness in accessing their medical care need.
Each medical care team consists of one or more clinical faculty, resident physicians and an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP). During the various stages of patient evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment options the patient will most likely be seen by one or all of each medical care teams providers. In determining an accurate patient diagnosis and treatment options, additional medical care teams such as neuroradiology, hospital or outside diagnostic laboratory and rehabilitation are often involved in our patient treatment plan.
Our physicians treat a diverse array of neurosurgical conditions. As such, our medical care teams include the neurosurgical specialties that treat medical conditions specific to cerebrovascular and skull base disorders, endovascular treatment, pituitary disorders, complex and minimally invasive spine disorders, stereotactic radiosurgery for the treatment of tumors, epilepsy, movement disorders and pain management.
