Complex Cranial Neurosurgery
The University of South Florida Department of Neurosurgery and Brain Repair, Division of Complex Cranial Surgery supports a fully funded one or two year fellowship in Complex Cranial Surgery. The chosen fellow is seen as an integral part of the multidisciplinary Center for Vascular and Skull Base Surgery, which includes Interventional Neuroradiologists, Otolaryngologists, Neurointensivists, as well as members of our division. The fellow is involved in all aspects of care including preoperative evaluation, nonoperative management, operative planning and execution, as well as postoperative care and follow up. USF is a regional referral center for complex skull base and vascular conditions; over 200 aneurysms are treated annually using a variety of approaches. During this fellowship the fellow will be exposed to and gain skill with a multitude of skull base approaches as well as complex aneurysm reconstruction and bypass techniques. During this time the fellow will also spend time in the Osman Microsurgical Laboratory, not only for research but to improve his/her microvascular technique. They will also be expected to assist with the annual Masters in Skull Base Symposium held at USF. We are currently accepting applications and interviewing for the 2013-2014 academic year.
