Bio Sketch

Harry van Loveren, M.D., became the Dept. of Neurosurgery Chairman in 2003. He is one of the leading neurosurgeons in the U.S. He is recognized internationally for his surgical talent in trigeminal neuralgia, cerebrovascular and skull base surgery. He is one of the founding members of the North American Skull Base Surgery Society. Through his numerous lectures and publications, he has helped to shape the development of skull base surgery as a discipline that crosses traditional specialty boundaries. He has established the Osman Microsurgery Laboratory, which is where he hosts the annual "Master's in Skull Base Course". Some of the most renowned neurosurgeons in the United States volunteer their time as instructors for this annual training course. They provide the necessary "fine tuning" of some of the more difficult procedures a neurosurgeon may encounter during their career.
