Research Description My laboratory is focused on examining the therapeutic effects of transplanting stem cells, especially those derived from human umbilical cord blood, in mouse models of ALS and Sanfilippo Syndrome. My special interest is deciphering the mechanisms of action of stem cells by understanding the blood brain barrier damage and inflammation that are inherent in the disease.
