Educational Opportunities

The Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology
offers a variety of educational opportunities. The Department offers both M.S. and Ph.D. programs that provide advanced training in Pharmacology and Physiology and prepare students for careers in research or other biomedical fields. Undergraduate courses are also available that provide a basic understanding of how drugs affect the body, and how the body handles drugs.

The Master's degree in Medical Sciences with an emphasis in Pharmacology and Therapeutics is tailored for students who wish to dedicate themselves full-time to a masters program. Students successfully completing the program will have a foundation that will permit them to work as research assistants in academia or in the private sector, teach basic Pharmacology at an undergraduate level or pursue higher degrees in biomedical sciences such as an M.D. or a Ph.D. The program will provide a solid core of training in the latest findings, concepts and experimental techniques used in the field. As for all graduate programs in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology, there is also a strong emphasis on the development of written and verbal communication skills.
