Research Interests

  • The tumor-stroma interaction (TSI) plays a critical role in the tumorigenesis, however the molecular details are not fully understood. My lab has established a three-pronged approach to elucidate the fundamental mechanisms of TSI and develop translational methods that may be exploited to discover novel drugs targeting TSI. First, we are exploring the role of inflammation and angiogenesis in TSI using the atrial natriuretic peptide receptor A (NPRA) signaling pathway as a model. Second, we have developed an unique 3D tumoroid platform, which is being exploited for both discovery and development of novel anti-cancer drugs targeting TSI. Finally, we are investigating potential of NPRA-based smart theranostics as novel anti-cancer drugs.
