Role of Career Advising
The Morsani College of Medicine Career Advising Program provides medical students with consistent advising throughout all four years of medical school. The goal of this program is to assist students' with choice of career, development of their curricular and extracurricular portfolio, and professionalism. At the start of first year, every student is assigned randomly to one of the Faculty Advisors. Throughout each year students will participate in workshops, individual/group meetings with their advisor, and peer mentoring.
Specifically, the role of the Advising Program is to:
- Identify career goals
- Explore specialty and practice options
- Choose a specialty
- Select and apply to residency programs
