Waitlist Process
The Medical Student Selection Committee thanks you for your continued interest in the University of South Florida College of Medicine. We likewise continue to have great interest in you as a candidate for the Fall 2011. The Committee hopes that the following information will be helpful as you make your future plans.
Waitlist Information
The waitlist process is a very dynamic time of the application experience. The Medical Student Selection Committee reviews waitlist applicants as space becomes available throughout the summer. We kindly ask for your patience during this time.
First, please let us explain a few points about USF COM’s waitlist process:
After the May 15th AMCAS deadline has passed for accepted students, the Medical Student Selection Committee has the opportunity to utilize waitlist applicants to fill seats that may become available. Please note that seats may not be available right after May 15th; this is merely a starting point of potential waitlist movement.
We will not disclose your position on the waitlist to you or anyone else requesting this information.
It is OK if you are offered a position off the waitlist for the Fall class from USFCOM and are holding an acceptance at another institution. We will work with you during that time so you can make an informed decision about your medical education. We ask that you communicate with our office any concerns or time extensions you may need during this time.
Please notify our office if you wish to withdraw your position on the waitlist. You may maintain your waitlist position with the University of South Florida College of Medicine up until the date of matriculation for the fall (August), regardless of whether or not you have accepted a position elsewhere.
Decisions and offers from USFCOM are made throughout the summer and up to the date of matriculation! Again, we ask for your patience during this time.
Please note that we will contact you immediately if an opportunity arises at USFCOM.
If you have any questions about USFCOM’s waitlist process please feel free to contact the Office of MD Admissions at 813-974-2229 option 1 or email

. We would be happy to help you.
