Program Director
ollerk@usf.edu

Dr. Oller is the Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the University of South Florida. A Tampa native, she went to University of South Florida for her biology degree and medical doctorate. She remained at USF for residency training and subsequently as a faculty member for the inpatient ward service at Tampa General Hospital. During her time as faculty and Associate Program Director, Dr. Oller founded the Scholar’s Council - an innovative curriculum that blends online project tracking and mentorship with workshops to enhance scholarly activity skills. She has a passion for learning beyond the classroom: leading resident simulation training for procedures as well as code team leadership, preparing jeopardy-style games to test medical knowledge, and creating concise algorithmic study guides for board review. She has received multiple teaching awards and was recognized by the American College of Physicians as Teacher of the Year in 2017. As Program Director, she has demonstrated a dedication to the program and department, an innovative approach to program development, and continues the resident-centered environment this program promotes.

Tashalei Chau

Tashalei Chau

Program Administrator
chaut@usf.edu

I began my career in GME in 2013 at UNC Chapel Hill as fellowship coordinator over Pain Medicine, Pediatric Anesthesia, and OB Anesthesia. My husband’s career brought us down to Tampa in 2015 where I joined USF as the GI/Hepatology Fellowship Coordinator. After a year away in 2021 at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital as their Internal Medicine Program Coordinator, I returned to USF to join the Internal Medicine Residency program as the Program Administrator in 2022.

I live in Riverview with my husband and two boys. I love crafting in my spare time, what spare time I get as a mom of two young boys, and frequently sell my items at local craft fairs.

Mary graduated from Florida State University with a degree in English Education. Shortly after graduating, she began working remotely for a social media company which allowed her to travel extensively and experience different cultures and - her favorite part - foods. Over the years she’s held on to her love for education and applies it in different areas of her life. Outside of business hours, she freelances as an illustrator, working mainly in the kid’s book market, with an ultimate goal of writing and illustrating her own children’s books. She is also currently studying Instructional Design, with a plan to directly apply her creative interests and love of education within this career field.
