Because we serve such a large patient population and are the transfer center for a large portion of the the state, you see quite the variety of pathologies from burns to neurosurgical issues to pediatric trauma. The training is in depth, thorough, and they make it a point to create astute EM physicians. Something about you: I live by the beach with my wife and 2 children. When not working, we're outside enjoying FL's 350+ days/year of sunshine going bike riding, kayaking, paddleboarding, or building sandcastles. Sunsets here over the Gulf are amazing.

USF EM had everything I wanted in an EM residency program: level 1 trauma, regional burn center, peds ER, great people (residents, attendings, nurses, everyone!), and overall great place to live and work. Something about you: I'm a born-and-raised Florida girl who grew in up the beautiful Bradenton/Sarasota area (best beaches in the world), relocated to the Swamp for undergrad (Go Gators!) and came to Tampa for my master's and medical school. I'm a former microbiologist (yes, I have my own microscope at home...) and former IM resident who loves the outdoors, hates the cold, and can't wait to follow in my dad's footsteps as an EM doc :)

USF EM catapulted to the top of my rank list because I decided I wanted to train in a high-volume urban environment that would push me to my limit on every shift. Demonstrated emphasis on ultrasound training, simulation, and global outreach showed me that my interests would be actively supported by the faculty. Fellowship opportunities enhanced by unique partnerships in government and industry provided me with further reassurance of superior training and prospects as a future attending physician. The offer to learn my craft in a new, waterfront emergency department from veteran clinicians and educators was one that I couldn't decline!
