Current Fellows

     

David Fitzhugh, M.D., 2nd year fellow, will graduate in June 2012. Dr. Fitzhugh received his medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. He then completed residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Fitzhugh's research interests are in the areas of RSV pathogenesis, asthma, and cancer immunobiology.

 

Jim Parkerson, D.O., 2nd year fellow, will graduate June 2012. Dr. Parkerson graduated from Kirksville College of Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. He did his internship and residency at the University of South Florida. His primary interest are asthma and bronchoprovocation challenge testing.

 

Ahmed Butt, M.D., 2nd year fellow, will graduate in June, 2012. Dr. Butt received his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine, Morgantown, WV. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in Michigan and is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Butt’s primary interest in allergy & immunology involves atopic disorders, particularly steroid resistant asthma and its effects on airway remodeling. His long term goal is to achieve excellence in continuity of care through improvements in patient education and preventative medicine.

 

Salman Aljubran, M.D., 1st year fellow, will graduate in June, 2013. Dr. Aljubran graduated from King Faisal University College of Medicine, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Aljubran did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Baystate Medical Center/Tufts University, MA. Dr. Aljubran has interest in asthma and basic research. He is planning to return to Saudi after completing his training in allergy and immunology. His goal is to join an academic institute there and to establish a Saudi Allergy Society.

 

Susan Culverhouse, M.D., 1st year fellow, will graduate in June, 2013. Dr. Culverhouse received her medical degree from the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida. She completed internship and residency at University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida. Dr. Culverhouse has interest in asthma, atopic dermatitis, and other skin disorders of the immune system.

 

Neetu Talreja, M.D., 1st year fellow, will graduate in June, 2013. Dr. Talreja received her medical degree from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine in West Penn Allegheny Health System in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Talreja’s primary interest in allergy & immunology involves asthma in the inner city population and asthma in older adults. Her long term goal is to reduce use of acute health care services for asthma by close follow up of asthma patients and self-management programs that focus on asthma knowledge, attitudes and self efficacy.
