Application Procedures

 

All decisions will be available on our homepage by August 1st. 

Application Submission Dates:

Primary Application: December 15 - March 15

Secondary Application:  June 1 - June 30 ( All applicants must submit. Not invitation based.)

  • Graduate Application for Admissions (click here)
    • Select "Medical Sciences"  plus concentration
    • Pharmacology will select Medical Sciences without the concentration
  • Application Fee ($30)
  • GRE (General Exam) or MCAT Scores
    • Official GRE scores should be sent through ETS to Graduate Admissions (school code: R5828)
    • There is no place on the primary application for MCAT scores
    • Verification codes located on the MCAT report will need to be emailed to graduate_education@grad.usf.edu
      • Indicate "MCAT Verification Code" in the email subject area
      • In the email body include
        • First and last name
        • Social security number
        • Verification Code
      • DO NOT USE THIS EMAIL ADDRESS FOR OTHER INQUIRES
  • Official/unopened Transcripts (U.S. Only)
    • USF official transcripts are not required 
  • Course-by-course TRANSCRIPT EVALUATION to include GPA (International Applicants)
    • Evaluations must be completed by AES or JOSEPH SILNEY
    • WARNING: Evaluations from other sources WILL NOT be considered 
  • TOEFL Test Scores (International applicants only)

Secondary Application Package

ALL of the following items must submitted in ONE package AFTER June 1st. 

  • Coversheet/Checklist  Get Checklist
  • TYPED Graduate Program Application Get Application
  • Completed Science GPA Calculator  Get Form
  • COPY of Transcripts--unofficial are acceptable (U.S. Only)
    • Unofficial transcripts for most Florida state universities can be obtained from www.facts.org for current students and recent graduates only  
  • International applicants will send AES or  JOSEPH SILNEY course-by-course transcript  EVALUATIONS
    • DO NOT send school transcripts, certificates, diplomas, publications, etc.
    • All items not requested will be discarded--NO EXCEPTIONS
  • Resume/Curriculum Vitae
    • Should include relevant experience, volunteer work, research, presentations, publications, coursework, awards etc.
  • Personal Statement (1-2 pages) describing personal interests and goals
    • Statements used/intended for professional schools (i.e. Ph.D., MD, DDS, etc.) may be used
  • 3 Recommendations (any combination of letters OR evaluation forms Get Form
    • Evaluation forms are not required if letters are available
    • Evaluation forms may be used in lieu of letters
    • Recommendations should come from faculty or other professional familiar with applicant's academic performance or professional potential
    • Letters of recommendation through an agency (i.e. Interfolio) may be used in lieu of evaluation forms 
    • Previous letters intended for professional schools will be accepted
    • This office is not a part of USF medical school admissions and does not have access to previously submitted letters
  • Unofficial GRE or MCAT Test Scores
    • Although a score must be indicated on the program application, an actual paper copy of the score report is not mandatory
