Tampa General Hospital
Tampa General Hospital has been affiliated with the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine since the school was created in the early 1970s. Tampa General is the primary teaching affiliate of the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and over 300 residents are assigned to Tampa General Hospital for specialty training in areas ranging from general internal medicine to neurosurgery. In addition, USF medical students, nurses and physical therapy students all receive part of their training at Tampa General. Faculty of the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine admit and care for patients at Tampa General as do community physicians, many of whom also serve as adjunct clinical faculty.
James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital
The James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital (JAHVH) is affiliated with the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine (Health Sciences Center) in North Tampa, developing a unique and close professional relationship. The hospital is connected both physically and functionally to USF and currently provides training to over 200 USF residents and fellows including Quality Improvement and Patient Safety fellows. Our facility offers residency training in all major medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties. The hospital is also a training site for medical, nursing, pharmacy, and other health care professional students.
H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center
Moffitt Cancer Center is a not-for-profit institution. It includes private patient rooms, the Southeast's largest Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, outpatient treatment programs that record more than 272,000 visits a year, the Moffitt Research Center, The Moffitt Clinic at Tampa General Hospital, and the Lifetime Cancer Screening & Prevention Center. The Muriel Rothman Building (Moffitt Clinic) and Vincent A. Stabile Research Building are areas that allow for more research and outpatient clinical space to better serve our patients.
