Bio Sketch

Dr. Charles Slonim is a board-certified ophthalmologist,a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). As a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, he received an Honor Award in 1993. On November 12, 2000, he received U.S. Patentnumber 6,116,426 for an Emergency Eye Kit.

Dr. Slonim is a clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine as well as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Florida, College of Medicine.

Dr. Slonim has lectured extensively to ophthalmologists, optometrists and other physicians throughout the United States and in more than 35 international cities in more than 24 countries around the world. He has published more than 25 scientific journal articles, 13 ophthalmology book chapters and 5 clinical symposia.

Dr. Slonim is the team ophthalmologist for many Tampa Bay area professional and intercollegiate sports teams including the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League and the University of South Florida intercollegiate sports programs. During the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Dr. Slonim served as a consultant at the Olympic Vision Center in the Olympic Village.

Dr. Slonim is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and New York Medical College. He completed an internship and residency in ophthalmology at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Slonim is listed in The Best Doctors in America; Who’s Who in American Education and Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare. He is responsible for the oculoplastic training to the resident physicians at the University of South Florida College of Medicine.
