Research Interests
Current research/scholarship involves studying functional performance, metabolic and peripheral vascular effects of exercise in persons with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and developing resistance exercise training studies with persons who have heart failure or COPD conditions.
Clinical Practice
Dr. Mengelkoch has been a practicing Physical Therapist for 22 years. In clinical practice he has specialized in Stage I, II Cardiac Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, including pre and post heart/lung transplantation, working with patients in both intensive care and normal care units.
