Research Interests:

Prosthetic Interface/ Socket technology; Prosthetic materials science; functional outcomes of amputee rehabilitation; amputee gait; technical aspects of prosthetic biomechanics, fabrication, fitting, and alignment.

Practice:

Jason Kahle began his career in prosthetics in 1988 as a prosthetic technician while studying business administration in Ohio.  His clinical experience began in 1992 as a resident in orthotics after attending the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University.  After returning to Northwestern to study for prosthetics he worked as a clinical and practice manager and lower extremity specialist for Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics beginning in 1994.  In 2000 he moved to Tampa, FL to become the director of Prosthetics for Westcoast Brace & Limb. He is a certified and Florida licensed Prosthetist and Orthotist and longstanding member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists. He is a dedicated researcher who has applied his research knowledge and experience to develop state of the art clinical prosthetic design.  His recent research projects have included microprocessor knee trials, translational research for athletic endeavors of amputees, transtibial (BK) and transfemoral (AK) interface (socket) design.
