As Associate Professor and Chief of Dermatologic Surgery at USF Health Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery, Dr. Basil S. Cherpelis specializes in Mohs surgery, an advanced procedure for skin cancer removal. Dr. Cherpelis has been recognized by the Consumer Research Council of America as one of America's Top Physicians and has also been a featured expert on CNBC in February 2009. He has authored several articles in leading dermatologic journals and contributes to both local and national media such as Men's Health Magazine. Dr. Cherpelis says," The most rewarding aspect of dermatology is to cure someone of skin cancer". Dr. Cherpelis's message to patients is to, "Check your skin regularly and and protect your self from overexposure to the sun".
