Symptoms of a Heart Attack:

  • Discomfort, pressure, heaviness, or pain in the chest, arm or below the breastbone
  • Discomfort radiating to the back, jaw, throat or arm
  • Fullness, indigestion, or chocking feeling
  • Sweating
  • Nausea
  • Dizziness
  • Extreme weakness, anxiety, or shortness of breath
  • Rapid or irregular heartbeats

The symptoms of a heart attack will usually last 30 minutes or longer, and will not be relieved by oral medication or rest. Some people can have a heart attack with no symptoms, which is known as a "silent" myocardial infraction, and occurs most often in people with diabetes. Immediate treatment of a heart attack is critical to lessen the damage done to the heart.

Symptoms of Coronary Artery Disease:

  • Chest, arm or jaw pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Palpitations (irregular heartbeats or a "flip flop" feeling in your chest)
  • Fast heartbeat
  • Weakness or dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Sweating

Symptoms of Arrhythmias:

  • Palpitations
  • Pounding in your chest
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Fainting
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest discomfort
  • Weakness or fatigue

Symptoms of Heart Failure:

  • Shortness of breath during exertion or at rest
  • Cough
  • Rapid weight gain
  • Swelling in legs, ankles and abdomen
  • Dizziness
  • Fatigue or weakness
  • Rapid or irregular heartbeat
  • Nausea
  • Heart palpitations
  • Chest pain
