Biographical Sketch

Dr. Rogal received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University in New Jersey and his MD from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. At Columbia, he was awarded membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He interned at Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut, then did his residency in Internal Medicine at Bellevue Hospital (Columbia Division) in New York. His residency in Cardiology was at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and fellowship in Cardiology at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center (affiliated with Albert Einstein College of Medicine) in New York. He served as Captain in the US Air Force Medical Corps for two years as Chief of Internal Medicine at Wurtsmith AFB, Michigan. Subsequently, he went into private practice in New York City with ongoing teaching duties at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York. He moved to Tampa, Florida in 1988 and remained in private practice in Tampa until December 2006. During this period, he served as Chief of Cardiology at St. Joseph's Hospital (2000-2006) and Chief of Staff at Memorial Hospital(2000-2001). He joined the USF division of Cardiology full time in December 2006 to continue his interest in clinical cardiology and engage in teaching activities with the USF Medical School.

Dr. Rogal's area of expertise is in non-invasive cardiology including the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, heart failure, and management of hypertension and hyperlipidemia, as well as the interpretation of diagnostic tests such as stress tests and echocardiograms. He is available for consultation and ongoing medical care at USF Medical Clinics (on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard) and USF Health, South Tampa Center (next to Tampa General Hospital).
