Biographical Sketch
Richard E. Bowerman MD , is an interventional cardiologist at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of South Florida School of Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Bowerman graduated from Wabash College in 1972 and received his MD degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1977. After finishing his internal medicine residency at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana , Dr. Bowerman completed his cardiology fellowship at the University of South Florida in 1982. He has been in private practice in Tampa since 1982 until joining the VA Hospital in 2004. Dr. Bowerman's academic interests include interventional cardiology , heart failure and the training of endurance athletes. Dr. Bowerman's hobbies include running , cycling , golf and military history. He is married and has two children.
