Facilities

The Division of Cardiovascular Disease's academic offices are located on campus at the USF Health Sciences Center adjacent to the USF Medical Clinic.

The USF Cardiovascular Services at the USF Health South Building(adjacent to Tampa General Hospital) offers outpatient cardiac diagnostic(Echocardiography, Nuclear stress) and consultative services. Specialized clinics for the diagnosis and management of arrhythmias, heart failure, and ischemic heart disease, management of anticoagulation and, lipid disorders, and evaluation and management of cardiac implantable electrical devices (pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators, and resynchronization devices) are located at the center.

Tampa General Hospital is an 958 total beds(899 acute care) and 59 rehabilitation care beds. USF teaching hospital is located in downtown Tampa and contains several unique specialty units, including a heart transplant program, chest pain center, burn center, level-I trauma center, childbirth center, children's medical center and other solid organ transplant programs. Most of USF's 350 doctors care for patients at TGH.

The 577-bed James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital is directly attached to the medical college. This academic, tertiary, award winning medical center (with satellite clinics) ranks in the top five percent of all VA hospitals nationwide. The hospital opened in 1972, and is known for its extensive cardiac services including comprehensive cardiac imaging, percutaneous cardiac peripheral vascular interventional cardiology, electrophysiology ,and over 250 open heart operations per year.

H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute is Florida's premier NCI awarded cancer center. USF physicians make up the medical staff at the 162-bed center. The USF Division of Cardiovascular Disease has an active consultation service and noninvasive laboratory at the Moffitt Cancer Center.

The USF Medical Clinic offers diagnostic and treatment services in 31 different medical specialties, ranging from primary care to sub-specialty care. Other College of Medicine-affiliated facilities include the University Psychiatry Center, University Diagnostic Institute and the USF Dialysis Center.

Bay Pines VA Medical Center is a 484-bed hospital located in St. Petersburg. It has a very active inpatient and outpatient cardiac program.

All Children's Hospital is a 216-bed nationally recognized pediatric teaching hospital located in St. Petersburg. Cardiology fellows rotate through the cardiology service for education in congenital heart disease.
