The Class of 2011 has adopted Brooks-DeBartolo Collegiate High School (BDCHS) as our class project. This local high school emphasizes academics and provides an ideal setting for students who intend to go to college but have struggled to reach their potential in the traditional high school setting. We aspire to serve not only as tutors to the students, but also as mentors and role models. This class project provides an opportunity for us to share our individual strengths and talents with the students while making a lasting impact on the youth of the Tampa community. As an upcoming project, we are planning on hosting a health fair to provide information for the students and their families on the importance of nutrition and exercise, as well as exposure to health careers. Our goals include serving at least 1000 community service hours at the school and also building a lasting relationship between BDCHS and USF Health.
